Excursion route
Belovezhskaya Pushcha is one of the most well-known tourist destinations in Belarus, is a pristine forest area, that impresses by its square (500 thousand sq.km). Boundaries of the reserve are natural: the Baltic Sea, the Oder, the Dnieper and the Bug rivers. Currently there's no bigger forest in the Central Europe. In 1992 Pushcha was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and a year after it got a status of biosphere reserve and the European certificate — an award for preservation of national parks and natural reserves.
The National park „Belovezhskaya Pushcha“ is divided into 4 functional areas:
- zone of recreational use (that's the zone where to almost all the tours and excursions are arranged);
- fully preserved natural zone of forestland;
- zone of economic use;
- administered natural reserve zone.
A unique character and its importance is that an enormous number of biogeocoenoses symbioses on the square of 163.5 hectares. It is also important to mention that here you can find more than a half (64%) of plants, that grow in Belarus.
