Excursion to Khatyn
Khatyn was a village in Belarus, destroyed on 22 March 1943 punitive expeditions in retaliation for the murder of several German soldiers. In accordance with the principle of collective punishment 149 the inhabitants of Khatyn were burnt alive or shot for the possible provision by the villagers help the partisans.
